How to Make Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise has become so ubiquitously processed that most people can't fathom its being made from scratch. But it can be done. Homemade mayonnaise is tastier, prettier, and more rewarding than store-bought mayonnaise, and once you get the knack of it, making mayonnaise is a snap.

Ingredients

• 3 Egg yolks
• 2 tbsp White wine vinegar
• 2 tbsp Lemon juice
• 2 tbsp Water
• 1/2 tsp Salt
• 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper (optional)
• 3/2 or 1 1/2 cups Vegetable oil

Steps

   Separate the eggs, putting only the yolks in a mixing bowl.

   Add vinegar, lemon juice and water.

   Optional; heat the mixture in a double boiler to a temperature of 150º (65.6C). This will take about 1 minute. Stir constantly and keep a close eye on the temperature. Many people don't bother with heating, but it's essential to minimize the risk of food poisoning(salmonella - see Warnings).

   Remove the mixture from heat and cool to room temperature.

   Add dry mustard, salt, and cayenne pepper.

   Using a whisk or a standing or electric mixer,or a food processor (which works the best), mix the ingredients together.

   Slowly, very slowly, teaspoon by teaspoon at first, whisk in an oil that you don't mind tasting (extra virgin olive oil, or peanut or grapeseed,or corn oil, rather than an old, super-cheap container of canola you haven't touched in years).

       • If using a handheld or electric whisk, it might be helpful to have someone pour for you, or at least to have something holding your mixing bowl steady as you whisk.

       Continue adding oil bit by bit until the mayonnaise has reached the proper consistency. This may take up to a half a cup of oil per yolk. If the mayonnaise remains soupy, give it a chance to rest. If in resting the oil and yolk seem to separate, the mayonnaise has broken. See Tips.

How and Why to Change IP adress

Windows

- Computer connected directly to the modem

1. Get to a command prompt. (START, run, cmd
2. Type "ipconfig /release" (without the quotes, on the command line by itself).
3. Type "ipconfig /renew" (without the quotes, on the command line by itself).

- Computer connected directly to the modem

3. Shut down computer.
4. Turn off computer.
5. Turn off all ethernet hubs/switches.
6. Turn off cable/DSL modem.
7. Leave off overnight.
8. Turn everything back on.

Network with Router

1. Log into the router's admin console. (Often http://192.168.1.1/)
2. Release the IP address. (Method varies by router manufacturer)
3. Turn off router, ethernet hubs/switches, and the cable/DSL modem.
4. Leave off overnight.

If you are using a cable/DSL modem and a router, you may wish to connect your computer directly to the cable/DSL modem. Please note that this could significantly impact your system security. This allows your ISP's DHCP to issue you a new (hopefully changed) IP address based of the (hardware) MAC address of your computer's ethernet card.

If all the above has not worked to change your IP address and you have a router, check and see if there is a "Clone MAC Address" option. Using it should change your IP address; however, you'll only be able to do it once (in most cases).

These will not work in all cases. If all else fails contact your internet service provider (ISP) and ask them if they are able to change your IP address or how long your connection needs to be off for your IP address to change.

If you trying to change your IP address because you are just trying to access web based forums you may wish to attempt to configure your internet browser to use a proxy server.

Why Change Your IP Address?

Some people change a public IP address to avoid online bans. Web site message boards and other services sometimes block individuals by their IP address. Note that some sites block people by their user names, and changing the IP address will have no effect in this case.

Additionally, an ISP may assign you an invalid address due to some technical glitch in their equipment. This is another (more legitimate) reason to change your public IP address.

Changing a private IP address does not at all help with Internet address issues. However, changing these makes sense in a few situations:

• if you have accidentally configured an invalid address (such as a static IP address in the wrong numeric range)
• if you are using a malfunctioning router that is providing bad addresses, such as one already being used by another computer on your network
• if you are installing a new router and re-configuring your home network to use its default IP address range

The choice of IP address does not affect your network performance or network security in any meaningful way.
